Honeybee Leadership – Governance Workshop Wednesday, Nov. 30

Simple Wisdom to Help You Govern Naturally

Think Like a BeeThriving social sector organizations embrace and practice a few simple truths. Your organization is a social system, relying on the skills, abilities, and passion of every individual to work collaboratively to advance your mission, live your values, and realize your vision. The board of directors is one of the critical teams needed to advance. Often overlooked or underutilized, the board can and should be be a powerful resource.

Much like bees, we function best with clear direction, defined roles, and a sense of community and teamwork.  This workshop is for anyone who is serious about trusteeship, leadership, and governance, and eager for a simpler way of working.

We will focus on three operative principles and six core concepts to help board members govern more and manage less.

In her typical fashion, Third Sector Group’s principal, Kimberley Sherwood, will provide a context, framework and a set of priciples that can apply to any size organization. Based on relevant research, best practices, and 25 years of real-world experience as an active board member and nonprofit professional, she will share the simple truths and practices that can help any board become even more high functioning and dynamic!

The workshop will include a presentation, bibliography of must-reads, and individual and small group work.

This workshop is free, thanks to the generosity of the Pikes Peak Library District and the
El Pomar Foundation.
